CSC Global Alumni Board

Vision

CSC Global Alumni board is a formal body that connects, supports and develops our alumni so we can build our leadership character to impact the future for good.

The CSC Global Alumni enable local and international forums that bring together leaders to collaborate, share, inspire, develop and empower one another.

1. Enabling Alumni to connect with each other as a sustained network;

2. Delivering a biannual global conference;

3. Enabling continuing leadership development and connection;

4. Supporting future Commonwealth Study Conferences.

Dr. Ilka Dunne
FCSCGA

Co-Chair

Ilka is a Founding Director and a member of the Events and Conference Committee for CSC Global Alumni. Ilka attended the 2015 CSC Leaders programme and was instrumental in organising several London CSC alumni events.

Professionally, Ilka was the Group Lead for Leadership and Culture at FirstRand Bank in South Africa, supporting all FirstRand employees across Africa, the UK and India. As a seasoned leadership, team and organisational culture designer she recently branched out as the MD of Ad Infinitum Partners.  

Mr. John Thompson
FCSCGA

Co-Chair

John has 30 years’ experience in media and public relation in Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States. This has included leadership roles at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, New South Wales Police Force and the Royal Australian Navy. John now runs his own PR firm JT Comms which has clients in Australia, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

John participated in the 2016 Emerging Leaders Dialogue Asia and the 2017 CSC Leaders program. He is a founding member of the Commonwealth Association of Leadership Malaysia and a founding director of the CSC Global Alumni.

Mr. Taimor Baig

Vice-Chair

Taimoor is an International Development Consultant, based in Islamabad. He has extensive experience of leading bilateral development programmes in different sectors for the UK government in Pakistan. He has particular interest in governance, economic development and service delivery reforms. He represented Pakistan in the 2023 CSC in Canada.

Mr. Peter Laurent

Treasurer

Peter is a Founding Director of CSC Global Alumni and Chairs the IT Committee and Convenes the CSC Global Leadership Series. Peter attended the 2016  ELD Asia programme and several subsequent alumni events in London, Hong Kong, Brisbane & Sydney. 

Professionally Peter advises REITs and Private Investors on Commercial Real Estate transactions. Peter has previously been the Founder of several technology companies and a Director and Advisor to Boards of both public and private businesses in Australia, New Zealand and the UK specialising in technology, real estate and infrastructure investment. 

Mr. Michael Wright
FRSA, FCSCGA

Secretary

As Founding Chairman, Michael ensures that the CSC Global Alumni is able to work for its members and community to bring alumni together from across the Commonwealth. 

Professionally, Michael is the Senior Learning and Leadership Manager on the NEOM Industrial City project. Prior to this Michael was Group Executive EHS at Lend Lease and ran his own Safety Leadership & Executive Leadership Consultancy.

Ms. Michelle de la Harpe-Germani
RTCA, FCSCGA

Director

Michelle was appointed as a director of CSCGA in 2024 and chairs the communications committee.  She attended the CSC Canada in 2023 and is a founding member and current PR officer for the Commonwealth Association of Leadership Malaysia.  

Michelle is originally from Sabah (North Borneo) and is now based in Penang, Malaysia. She is Malaysia’s first Xpert Fitness certified Flexibility Flow instructor and runs her own wellness platform, a social enterprise focused on physical and mental wellbeing while respecting the environment.

Mr. Ed Greig

Director

Ed grew up farming and is now the Chief Disruptor at Deloitte, working to get new technology delivering tangible benefits as quickly as possible. He attended the 2023 CSC in Canada, following in the footsteps of his grandfather who attended the first Conference in 1956. He is the proud father to two Mini-Disruptors.

Ms. Alpna Khera

Director

Alpna, a senior business executive with 30 years of experience, leads A’sara Consultants, advising global and Indian clients in Urban Mobility, Energy and Technology. As former CEO of Serco India and Regional Director at GE, she managed businesses exceeding $200M.

A Harvard Strategic Leadership alumna, she specializes in driving business development and profitable growth strategies.

Ms. Beth Lawton

Director

Beth recently joined CSCGA as a new Director, having attended the CSC Leaders Course in London and Mumbai in 2017. She currently lives in Glasgow, Scotland where she delivers technology based organisational transformation.

Dr. Elizabeth Mkoba (PhD)

Director

Elizabeth Sylvester Mkoba (PhD) is a Lecturer and Researcher in the School of Computational and Communication Science and Engineering at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), Arusha, Tanzania. She is a Computer Scientist with expertise in Digital and Emerging Technologies, AI Governance and Ethics, Corporate Governance, ESG, IT Project Management Audit and Assurance, and Cybersecurity Governance. She is a Board Director of CRDB Bank Burundi (CRDB Bank PLC is a leading commercial bank in Tanzania).
 

Elizabeth participated in the 2007 Commonwealth Study Conference (CSC) held in New Delhi, India, and the CSC 2023 held in Calgary and Montreal, Canada. She is also a Board Member of the Association of Commonwealth Leadership Conferences (ACLC). She is a Deputy Chair of CSC Africa, a Board Member, and a Vice Chair of the Board of CSC Africa.

Mr. Hayden Montgomerie JP, FRSA, FCSCGA, MInstD

Director

Hayden was appointed as a director of CSCGA in 2024. He attended the 2016 ELD in Malaysia.  Hayden is based in Wellington, New Zealand where he works as an independent consultant in international business and education sectors with a focus on connecting New Zealand with Asia.
